Student favorite! Galaxy was created by Deb Tucker for Studio 180 Designs. Galaxy uses five fabrics, a dark and a medium of one value, and a dark and a medium of another value, plus one light. Galaxy is a beautiful alternating block design, because of the color placement and the different angles in the triangles, interesting interlocking circles appear and the second star block disappears into the circles. It’s a fun optical illusion.

Workshop: Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star

Get ready for a great new method for constructing traditional Lemoyne Star blocks. You'll be using strip piecing techniques, over-sizing units for easy trim down and no "Y" seams. Deb Tucker’s Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star tool is designed to give you the choice of 10 different size blocks that range from 3" finished to 12"finished. Our class project is a sampler of all the available size options so you'll get a chance to try them all and end up with a marvelous wall quilt.
Workshop: Whirling Lemoynes

Michelle designed this quilt to be featured in Modern Quilting Unlimited Magazine. Whirling Lemoynes creates spinning effect that was inspired by those fun whirling flowers used as lawn ornaments. It is a really fun and whimsical quilt that teaches you how to piece Lemoynes and 4-Pointed Stars without paper piecing.
Whirling Lemoynes uses (20) 1/8 yards. Alternatively, you could use 6” strips or scraps and this quilt would be fabulous. If you want that high contrast use assorted bright fabrics for your Lemoyne Stars, another bright whimsical fabric for your Whirling Beams and a dark or light background.

Michelle designed this blossoming quilt for Modern 180 Designs. Summer Blossom was inspired by Michelle’s vast flower gardens at her home in Connecticut. This quilt has a light airy feeling that provides a lot of movement, giving the illusion that the flowers blowing in the summer breeze.
This delightful quilt comes together easily with the help of Studio 180 Design’s Corner Pop™, Wing Clipper and Square tools. The pattern list suggestions for fat quarters, however half yard cuts would work too, although Michelle thought is always the more fabric the better, which is why you could even go scrappy!

Signs of Autumn pattern offer both a Table Runner or Wall Quilt (or Both!). Both projects were designed by Deb Tucker and are great quilts to make in the summer to be ready for Fall. Additionally, both include a favorite Leaf Block and Flying Geese strips to create their overall design, utilizing the Wing Clipper I and Corner Beam Tools, beautiful pieced leaves are combined with flying geese in this fun table runner. This quilt pattern is now available as a standalone pattern and offered in 3 Quilt Sizes (Wall, Throw, and Double). Each size is made with the same number of units, just in 3 different size units (6in, 9in, or 12in)
You will learn to master 2 different types of Lemoyne Stars; Lemoynes as Triangles and Banded Lemoynes Star. This quilt would be fabulous with a dark background, or even a fabulous print in place of the Turquoise Triangles. You’ll master two techniques using the Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star! It's Electrifying!

Michelle designed this interlocking quilt for Modern 180 Designs. Finley’s Fence features playful rings of interwoven colors, made up of Fat Quarters, to create this modern play on an Irish Links quilt. This playful quilt comes together easily with the help of Studio 180 Design’s Corner Pop™. Michelle’s inventive use of the Corner Pop™ makes this otherwise difficult angled/bias unit actually tons of fun to make.

Description: Learn how to use Deb Tucker’s Rapid Fire Hunter Star Ruler and make one of over 40 different Hunter Star layouts by just playing with tone, color and placement. This class will push your creative side. You can use Deb Tucker’s new book for inspiration or just play. Michelle will cover some basics in color theory; learn methods for using color with confidence through audition, color wheel and other group color adventures. You will leave this workshop with a deeper understanding of the role of color in your quilts and with a renewed excitement about quilting. For this class, you will only need 8 Dark and 8 Light Fabrics. Feel free to bring more, to play and audition. Additionally, you will get tips on the best way to measure and piece your borders.
Workshop: Northern Neighbours

A spectacular Maple Leaf quilt that can be made in one of two sizes, just in time for fall! You could even choose to make just one block and frame it for a pretty wall quilt or keep on going to produce either a sizeable twin or king size quilt. You can elect to go with the pictured Red and White, with Batiks (love this) or with your favorite fall fabrics. The original leaf design uses three Studio 180 Design tools to produce the points of each leaf - Corner Beam®, Split Rects®, and Wing Clipper® I tools. Class will include instruction and practice with all three tools plus sewing, pressing and construction techniques, as well as a small bit of paper foundation piecing procedures. This quilt features intricate maple leaves and flying geese, celebrating Deb’s Northern Neighbours fans!

A quilt design frequently made with loads of scraps can become challenging when using a coordinated grouping of colors, however with Deb's pattern and a bit of organization, you'll easily be able to make this spectacular quilt. But, if simpler is more your style or you just prefer scrappy, the scrappy version is for you! Both versions included in the pattern.

Michelle designed this quilt for Modern 180, Studio 180 Design’s Modern Pattern line. Amusement is a fun and quirky quilt inspired by the Ferris Wheels found on the Amusement Piers, in New Jersey, where Michelle grew up. This pattern is made using Studio 180 Design's Tucker Trimmer® I, Wing Clipper® I and the Corner Pop® tools. Make this fabulous design without paper piecing!
You will use yardage for the background and accent (green), and for each Ferris Wheel you will use 3 values of one color. So, for example, if you decide to use red for one block, you’ll need a light red, a medium red, and a dark red. It’s up to you to decide how many different color Ferris Wheels you have in your quilt. Pattern offers Wall (4 Blocks), Throw (9 Blocks) and Twin (12 Blocks) sizes.
The class will include step-by-step use for all three tools, as well as additional examples of how to use the Studio 180 Tools to make your quilting life easier. Plus, tons of tips on matching points, squaring up your blocks and general machine piecing tips and tricks.
Workshop: Migrating Geese
Length: Half Day (4 Hours)
Quilt Size: Depends on Project Selected
Learn a great technique for making pieced border strips, modern strip quilt, etc. A great looking pieced strip that can be used for borders or rows. This difficult looking design is actually made from a technique developed more than 20+ years ago by Georgia Bonesteel, however made simple with Deb Tucker’s fabulous technique. It is constructed from squares and uses precision machine piecework.
In class you'll be working on making a sample row or two to become familiar with the process and then see a number of samples for future project planning. Hints and tips to help improve the required precision piecing techniques will be addressed and shared as well as steps for how to adapt the border to numerous other size options. Depending on what you want to do with your class work product, you may want to put aside additional coordinating fabric for post class. For pictured quilt, I used 2 ½ Yards of focus fabric, 2 ½ Yards of background fabric, and a good portion of 20 Fat Quarters. Measures 48” x 48”! .
